Most you know, some you might not

1.     My name is Christina.

2.     Some people call me Marie, but if you have never called me that, please don’t start.

3.     I have an awesome fiancé – Steve (well, most of the time he’s awesome).

4.     We’re getting married next May or maybe before if I can ever make up my mind on what I want to do.

5.     I can’t make a decision to save my life.

6.     Before I die I want to save someone’s life.

7.     My fiancé is a firefighter.

8.     I bet he gets to save someone’s life before me.

9.     He’s a brat like that.

10. Sometimes I hate that he’s a firefighter.

11. I’m scared someone will NOT be around to save his life when he needs it and he’ll leave me.

12.  I worry about EVERYTHING.

13. I can’t help it – I blame it on my mother.

14.  I’m very self-conscious.

15. I’m also shy if I don’t know you.

16. People sometimes think that I’m snobby because of that.

17. I really don’t think I am.

18. I know I’m only better than a handful of people.

19. Just kidding.

20. I like to sing really loud into my brush (or anything resembling a microphone) when I’m home alone.

21. I don’t think I’m any good, but my Momma does.

22. The song “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” always puts me in a good mood.

23. I really like to sing to the dog.

24. He looks at me and smiles.

25. Maybe I just imagine that he smiles.

26. I think it’s soothing for him.

27. Maybe I’m just imagining that too.

28. I love my Dog.

29. We don’t have kids yet, so we’re practicing on him.

30. Since he can’t talk to us I don’t know if we’re doing a good job or not.

31. We call ourselves his Mommy & Daddy.

32. I want 4 kids.

33. A boy first and then my three Girls

34. I already have them named.

35.  I want a boy first because I think it’s important to have an older brother.

36. Girls need someone to protect them.

37. I have an older brother.3

8. We used to fight a lot but now we kind of like each other.

39.  I’ve never actually been in a real fistfight.

40. But in case I ever am, Bob taught me how to punch someone a few week ago.

41. No, I’d never learned how to really throw a punch.

42. Bob is our roommate.

43. He used to be just Steve’s friend but now I’ve adopted him.

44. We’re practicing to be parents with Bob too.

45. Unlike the Dog, Bob can tell us if we’re doing a good job or not.

46. Bob moved back to MI from Alabama.  

47. I think he has family down there.

48. But, he missed us so he moved back.

49. Maybe he didn’t miss “us” – but I like to think so, it makes me feel better.

50.  I’ve only lived in MI

51. We were going to move to North Carolina last year but obviously did not end up going.

52. My Dad lives in North Carolina.

53. My Dad is one of my best friends.

54. We try to go visit him as much as we can.

55. It helps that it’s so beautiful down there.

56. I love southern accents.

57. And traveling.  

58. I wish I could spend the rest of my life traveling.

59. I want to go to France and Italy before I die.

60. If we were rich we would go there for our honeymoon.

61. We’re not rich.

62. But we did just buy a house in December.

63. I love our house.

64. It’s fun to live together.

65. I get to clean and the boy’s get to watch me.

66. Just joking…kind of.

67. The boy’s are good about picking up after themselves.

68. Teddy, however, is not.

69. Sometimes Teddy eats his own poop.

70. That’s gross, isn’t it?

71. We tried to teach him not to.

72. I hope our kids don’t end up doing that.

73. But, our kids would at least be able to talk to us and tell us whey they were eating it.

74. He also likes to drink out of the toilet.

75. That’s gross too.

76. Yes, I know the water is clean.

77. It is still gross.

78. I like cleaning toilets.

79. I’m weird too.

80. When I get really mad I will clean like a crazy woman.

81. I don’t get really mad that often.

82. Maybe only once a week.

83. Kidding.

84. I also don’t like to talk when I’m mad.

85. I become a mute woman intent on cleaning toilets.

86. Steve and I have weird nicknames for each other.

87. We call each other buttcrack’s.

88. It’s really a term of endearment.

89. I love that movie (Terms of Endearment)

90. I watched Steel Magnolia’s last night.

91. We bought a tree this weekend that will eventually look like a magnolia tree.

92. We did a lot of yard work this weekend.

93. Bob helped too.

94. It makes it nice to have another boy to help Steve.

95. I’m just as strong as they are.

96. But I just don’t want to intimidate them and show it.

97. Do you believe me?

98. You don’t?

99. Well, then you’re not as gullible as I am.

100.  I’d get the award for world’s most gullible girl if there were such a thing.

And now?  Now that I find myself with my own house, I can’t seem to keep a damn thing clean!  I have a fiance, his friend and a dog that live here.  You’d think I’d be able to keep up but I can’t. 

 I can spend all day on Sunday cleaning.  Scrubbing floors, walls, vacuuming, cleaning counters.  And by Monday night?  It doesn’t even look like I’ve touched a thing!  And it’s not that the boy’s don’t pick up after themselves, because they do, they really do.  But, it’s the little things that get left behind that drive me absolutely insane.  Example – sugar granules on the counter from the bowl of cereal someone had in the morning.  I know the boy’s just don’t see it, but it drives me batty.  And it’s these little things that I can spend all night doing.  Ok, maybe not all night but a good hour or more.  It’s the small things like cleaning the fingerprints off of the refrigerator, wiping off the stove, dusting the tv, filling ice cube trays.  A bunch of little things every night add up to a lot of time! And I can’t imagine how I’m going to not go insane once we have kids who will make even more messes!

So, am I just not cleaning the right way?  Am I too anal about my house and it’s level of cleanliness? Or was my Mother just superwoman?

Fuh, huh?  I even have a nice sunburn and poison ivy to prove it!  But, the yard looks better so it’s all worth it.

What’d you all do this weekend?

He’s my Baby and I love him.  Yesterday, he made a HUGE milestone in our training.  When his Daddy came home, he accidently left the front door open and when Teddy came flying out of his cage, he went for it.  But, when his Daddy said “Stop Teddy!” Guess what Teddy did?  No, he did not run away.  He stopped and came back in the house! 

This is a huge accomplishment for Teddy and we’re so proud of him!

Ok, I know, he’s a dog.  But give us a break – we don’t have any kids yet. Geez, this animal is our life.

• Public Restrooms.  I understand that in an office of 150+ the odds of people having to poop during the day gets quite high.  But (HA, no pun intended), please, if you’re going to poo in the bathroom, can you make sure the splatter is not left all over the bowl for the rest of the office to see?  Thanks. 

• If one more person walks into my area and says “Gosh, aren’t ya lonely back here?” I’m going to scream at the top of my lungs.  “No, dumbass, I don’t have a chance to get lonely because people like YOU keep coming and asking me about it! Now leave me alone and let me enjoy the quiet for once!” 

Anyway, it’s Friday, it’s beautiful outside and I have a HUGE case of cabin fever.  Let me out already!!!!  Six hours down, three hours to go!!  Gawd, this day is taking forever. 

I think God’s punishing me for skipping church last Sunday to sleep in.  You are, aren’t you God?  If you’ll kindly enable my Gadget Time Warp mechanism I promise you I will be in attendance on Sunday morning no matter how tired I am or how tempting my pillow seems.  Puhleeze???  Oh, fine.  Gosh.  I’ll suffer through.  But, in the meantime I’m going to offset my boredom with plenty of new postings.  Aren’t you all excited?  Hello?  Anyone out there?  You’re all out enjoying the sunshine, aren’t you?

 Here’s hoping it doesn’t happen again.  I owe my newfound blogging momentum to miss zoot.  I’ve had her on my google-reader for a few weeks now,  but recently starting devouring her archives.  If you haven’t read her blog stop everything and go visit her site now!  She’s awesome!

So, in hopes of documenting my life and keeping family and friends abreast of what’s happening in my world and all of the craziness of our household, I solemnly vow to devote myself to blogging at least once a day.  I pinky swear.
